Dr. Cristina Keusch is concerned that your postoperative recovery be as pain-free as possible. She is one of the first plastic surgeons in Florida to introduce Exparel into her practice. Exparel is the first single dose postsurgical analgesic that lasts up to 72 hours (and often up to 96 hours). Exparel is a local anesthetic that is injected at the time of surgery in the operative site. No tubes, pumps, or other devices are required. Through its slow release over several days, most patients experience minimal discomfort during the time that would normally be accompanied by more significant pain. Dr. Keusch recommends that Exparel be used for all abdominoplasty procedures and for select breast augmentation procedures. We are thrilled to report that most of her patients have reported minimal discomfort.
